Creating the Greenest County Awards 2012

Now in their fifth year, the awards are key to delivering the Creating the Greenest County element of Suffolk's Community Strategy, 'Transforming Suffolk'. These awards also highlight the Suffolk Carbon Charter developed by the European funded Answer Project in partnership with the Environment Agency, Groundwork, Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, Suffolk County Council and Suffolk Climate Change Partnership.

The 2012 award winners were announced at an evening celebration at Wherstead Park on 22 March 2012.

The Creating the Greenest County Awards are an annual event that highlight the excellent environmental achievements that are ongoing within our communities, businesses and school across Suffolk, from protecting our natural landscape to developing innovative ways to reduce carbon emissions to reducing waste. Suffolk has some fantastic people doing amazing things, whether they are cutting carbon, growing local foods and caring for Suffolk’s wildlife. These awards are about celebrating their environmental excellence and publicising the lessons learnt. There are 18 different award categories covering schools, businesses and communities.
